From Paradox Haze

On March 5th, 2008, strange reports of paranormal activity were heard all over the world. Objects moving on their own, people speaking in tongues. Nearly everyone witnessed some form of the phenomena.

On the morning of March 6th, the world became plunged in chaos. At 7:20 AM, Central Time, there were two bright red flashes that could be seen over most of the northern hemisphere and southern hemisphere respectively. By 8 AM Central Time, New York city was being ravaged. People and Animals would suddenly collapse, and transform into killer monstrosities, who would begin harvesting souls..

Throughout the world, these begins became known as demons - the routine of possession certainly matched, as well as the grotesque appearances and killer tendencies.

The Rest of March was a bloody and futile war of resistance; as people died and the demons consumed their souls, they seemed to become more and more powerful. This was the only thing that humanity knew; from where and why they came was a mystery, but it was clear that these beings were intelligent, had their own hierarchy, and needed to kill to grow in power.

By May, most of the world was in shreds; the human population had been cut in half, as large cities were decimated by powerful demons.

Camps of resistance began popping up throughout the world - because the demons were not invincible. Until they possessed a being in our world, these demons seemed to be nothing more than mere ghosts, or shades. Once they took a body however, they became mortal - and could be kept at bay .... although their physical and magical powers are still formidable.

It is currently May 5th, 2009. One year has passed, and the face of the world has changed ... the remaining humans began to seek ways to drive back these demons..
