Name: Llyr

Description: Llyr is Maya's younger brother, and her rival heir. While Maya distrusts dark magic because of the calamities it has caused in the past, Llyr is entranced by it; he sees it as the equal and opposite counter-part of staff magic, and he seeks to master both.

Llyr also seeks to make peace with the land of Ceythea; an unpopular move, since it would involve returning lands taken by Llyr's grandfather back to Ceythea. Not to mention, Ceythea is populated by non-humans. This, and the fact that the Scale Assassin Lith is one of his main counselors makes many think he's but a pawn; Llyr is in reality quite strong willed, however.

Unlike Maya, he doesn't despise war; brought up by late-King Llefelys, Llyr is accustomed to war already. While he shows no particular great taste for it, he's certainly not one to avoid a fight if it will help him achieve his goals.
