Magic is something normally unavailable for humans - indeed, it is probably the greatest advantage the demons have over humanity, besides the ability to possess.

However, humans are capable of wielding magic.

Most humans that can wield magic have given in to the demons, becoming their servants. These humans can wield magic almost as effectively as the demons can. If they were to disobey or defy their masters however, their powers would be quickly taken away.

For this reason, humans that can do magic are most often (correctly) suspected for working for demons, and are usually killed or imprisoned.

However, there are a few other ways for humans to wield magic.

When a demon possesses a human, it extinguishes and consumes the human's soul, and takes its body as well. However, if a human soul can win this battle and instead extinguish the demon, they're said to be left with some of the demon's power. Humans that gain magic this way only retain a trace of magic, and gain a few special abilities depending on the demon that tried to posses them.

However, wild rumors of people that are not in the employ of demons and can wield magic have been reported. These individuals claim to have reached a Eudaemon - that is, a benevolent shadow entity ... However, the credibility of these rumors is uncertain, and most suspect that they're merely being deceived by a demon, or lying..
