Instances are rules evoked that overrule all rules, and are brought into play by another rule.

The player who caused Mathana to be invoked discards a card, puts on the hat and all his rows are neutralized. If the player cannot discard a card, he loses two Alignment points and the hat is offered to the opponent for any Special Card or a Gold card of Evil alignment. If the opponent accepts he laughs.
