Introduction

The primary predators on the planet Cyxon Mox, these large spider creatures are a key piece of the strange ecological cycle of the planet. Their unique relation with their prey, the Ect Naykob, is one of the few interesting things about their home world.

Physical Appearance

The Mhoro Hor are similar to a larger version of Earth tarantulas. They possess eight legs that are used for movement, and are covered in thick, wirey hair that protects them from sudden sandstorms or cold desert nights. Their mouth has two large mandibular appendages with envenomed points which they use to inject their prey. They also possess a gland underneath their mouth which fires a stream of sticky, stringlike webbing. They are often six to eight feet tall.

Feeding Habits

The Mhoro Hor's method of hunting is to create a large burrow in the sand, which is where they wait for days on end. When the prey comes, the Mhoro Hor strikes out and captures it in a projectile webbing. Then, they are injected with a poison that liquifies their organs and tissue, allowing the Mhoro Hor to drink it's prey.

Behaviors

Mhoro Hor are not violent, but can be extremely territorial. The females are slightly smaller than the males, and lay their eggs inside of a large sand dune. when the eggs hatch, the small spiders burrow their way out and from that point on never see their parents again. Some natives of Cyxon Mox claim that the eggs of these spiders have magical properties, but no close research has ever been done.
