Aduro I

Aduro I was the first, and so far, only, River Emperor to date in the Civilized Lands. He was very popular, mainly because a united river allowed for smooth trade and less intermittent warfare. He was poised to start what would have been an everlasting dynasty on the Lavern River, but, in a legendary tale, he was assassinated simulteniously by eight assassins, each from a one of the different valleys in his domain. After his death, he son was poisoned, and the cities returned to warfare. Evarian poet Edward Gladian Immortalized this in his famous play, The Status Quoe.
