Those albums, created during their peak period, really exemplify what makes the Beatles great, why so many people love their music. Prior to that, they had made British-sounding love songs like "Love Me Do" and "She Loves You" (yeah, yeah, yeah). Those were good, climaxing with Rubber Soul in 1965, but these albums have earned their place as among the greatest ever recorded.
