Star Wars is a 1977 film directed by George Lucas that has launched a franchise of 5 other films, a gazillion dollars worth of merchandise, thousands of no-life obsessive fans, and even an Expanded Universe.

Characters

Star Wars involves a lot of different characters.

Good Guys

• Luke Skywalker, a Jedi and the son of Anakin Skywalker.
• Princess Leia Organa, Luke's sister and the former princess of Alderaan.
• Han Solo, an adventurous space rogue and owner of the Millennium Falcon.
• Chewbacca, Han's Wookiee partner.
• C-3PO and R2-D2, a pair of robots who provide comic relief.
• Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi master who trains Luke.

Bad Guys

• Darth Vader, aka Anakin Skywalker, ruler of the Empire.
• Emperor Palpatine, emperor of the Empire.
• Grand Moff Tarkin, a high official of the Empire.
• Stormtroopers, the Empire's henchmen, who are unable to hit barn doors.
• 'Jabba the Hutt, a big blobby crime lord.
