The Beatles are the greatest rock band ever. Why are they so great? Well, a number of factors go into this including (1) their diverse musical style, (2) their prolific discography, (3) their artistic ambition, and (4) their playful public image.

They were a rock band from Liverpool, England that existed roughly from 1960 to 1970. But their influence has shaped virtually every musical development since then.
