In 1924, Lenin died of brain hemorrhage and Stalin got his wish. Trotsky was exiled, Stalin got the five-year plans going, Molokov made cocktails, Nazi-Soviet non-aggression pact, and then came the Battle of Stalingrad. The Soviets were pretty badly injured by [[World War II|WWII]], but they soldiered on; however, Stalin couldn't. Died 1953. But before him, millions of his countrymen, often at his command. Khruschev took over.

Josef Stalin (born Iosip Dzhugashvilli, 18??-1953) was first a Russian revolutionary, later the paranoid dictator of Russia during World War II and the deployment of the Iron Curtain.
