Star Wars is a 1977 film directed by George Lucas that has launched a franchise of 5 other films, a gazillion dollars worth of merchandise, thousands of no-life obsessive fans, and even an Expanded Universe.
Characters
Star Wars involves a lot of different characters.
Good Guys
- Luke Skywalker, a Jedi and the son of Anakin Skywalker.
- Princess Leia Organa, Luke's sister and the former princess of Alderaan.
- Han Solo, an adventurous space rogue and owner of the Millennium Falcon.
- Chewbacca, Han's Wookiee partner.
- C-3PO and R2-D2, a pair of robots who provide comic relief.
- Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi master who trains Luke.
Bad Guys
- Darth Vader, aka Anakin Skywalker, ruler of the Empire.
- Emperor Palpatine, emperor of the Empire.
- Grand Moff Tarkin, a high official of the Empire.
- Stormtroopers, the Empire's henchmen, who are unable to hit barn doors.
- 'Jabba the Hutt, a big blobby crime lord.
