Soprano clarinet

The soprano clarinet is mundane... except when it's odd.

It's odd when it isn't straight. Most of the larger clarinets have a curved neck and bell, but usually not the soprano. Usually! There have been some curved soprano clarinets made; such an instrument is sometimes called a "saxonette". (Category 3).

(Also, curved metal bells for soprano clarinets turn up on eBay sometimes, and Paraschos makes a curved wooden barrel for soprano clarinets. Paraschos also makes wooden flute headjoints, bassoon bocals, sax necks, and ligatures; not odd winds, but certainly odd parts.)
