Flags and symbols of St Thomas

St Thomas has a number of flags and symbols used to indenfity the nation and its instituions.

National Flag and Coat of Arms

The national flag consists of a red corss on a white background fimbriated red and white and was adopted in 2006. The national flag is often altered in various forms to create flags for government departments, the Royal Navy and other organisations.

The national coat of arms (officialy the Royal Coat of Arms) consists of a shield baring the cross of St George, the crest of the Royal Lion bearing the Imperial Crown standing on the same crown, the supporters are the Royal Lion for St Thomas and the Unicorn for St James and finaly a garter behind the shield. The coat of arms is used by the sovereign on offical documents.

Government Flag

- The Government Flag is used by all government ministers and deperments whilst on land and is displayed on the front of official veichles.

- The Ambassador's Flag is used by diplomatic representatives of the St Thomas Government to other governments and international organisations (excluding the Commonwealth). This flag also flied on St Thomas Embassies and Diplomatic Missions.

- The St Thomas High Commissioner to the British Commonwealth's Flag. Also flown on his mission.
