Character Age: 16, born in late September
If your character is a student - what year is s/he? Fifth Year. Because of when her birthday is, she was nearly 12 when she started Hogwarts.
What kind of wand does your character possess? 11 inch bloodwood with a walnut handle and a unicorn hair core. The unicorn hair symbolizes purity and bloodwood is good for divination, which is one of her best subjects.
Does your character own a broom? Which brand? *Nimbus with mod permission only* Her Father bought her a Nimbus for her birthday, despite her protests that she hates flying. According to him, a Richards should have the best of everything, no matter if they use it.
Describe your character's strengths (both magically and personality-wise. Please note that Animagi and Metamorphmagi, etc. are extremely rare and you MUST have Mod Permission.): Bri is excellent at potions, ancient runes, and divination. She's very intuitive and picks up quickly on what people are thinking, though she is not psychic or a seer. She has a sharp mind and understands the theory behind her other subjects, but doesn't always do so well on the practical application. The exception to this is DADA. She seems to have a knack for hexes, jinxes, and countercurses. In terms of personality, Bri is a good friend to have. She won't hesitate to hex someone who has hurt someone she cares about. Her skills at hexes is even more advanced after a couple of months of being stuck at Durmstrangs where the actual practice of the Dark Arts is a big part of the curriculum.
Bri is an excellent note-taker and takes school very seriously. Her good study habits lead her to succeed in almost any class that is pure theory/knowledge. (ie History, Ancient Runes, Astronomy, etc.)
Describe your character's flaws/weaknesses:Bri is pretty dismal at Charms and Transfig and will have to work very hard to achieve passable OWLs in those subjects. She is also far too wrapped up in wanting her family's approval and obsesses about her schoolwork to the point of forgetting to take care of her own well-being. She spent a lot of time and energy hiding her friendships and relationships with "mudbloods" from her father, though he found out anyway and shipped her off to Durmstrangs to get her away from the "bad influences". Now that her family knows, Bri is more defiant about it and consistently fights with them via owls.
She tends to take herself and others far too seriously and needs to reminded to lighten up quite a bit.
Describe your character's physical attributes. If you have a preferred PB, state it here:Cute as a button is a pretty apt description. Long very dark brown hair and bright green eyes, very pale skin and light freckles. she's pretty petite, only about 5'2 or 5'3. Her PB is Alexis Bledel.
Is your character Muggle born, a half-blood, or a pureblood? Explain it.She's about as pureblood as you can get, though the family line has produced the odd squib. The squibs were basically disowned and forced to go live as Muggles, though, so Bri knows nothing of that part of her ancestry.
Character Background/History:The Richards family is an old and powerful one. Her father Thomas is a high ranking official with the Ministry of Magic and her mother Annabel, a stay home society wife, comes from a prestigious family herself. Bri is your typical spoiled little rich girl and she has pretty much anything and everything money can buy. She also has two sisters who will be sporadically referenced as NPCs. She has an cousin at Hogwarts - Dariana Davison. The girls are fairly close, being about the only members of their immediate families who aren't the typical elitist snobs. Dari is a bit more carefree than Bri and does her best to get her to loosen up. Bri wrote her nearly every day while she was away from Durmstrangs and Dari played an integral role in getting her back to Hogwarts, basically sending Thomas daily Howlers until he caved.
Bri's time at Durmstrangs will have had an adverse effect on her. She was "beaten" with stunning spells for refusing to perform a lot of the dark magic that is part of the curriculum there and verbally abused and hexed almost daily by her classmates. She will attempt to hide most of this from her friends at Hogwarts, wanting to forget all about it and get back to the life she left behind.
Bri is mostly used to getting her way. She went through most of her life at Hogwarts without a single detention, mostly because she does her best to avoid breaking any rules, but also because on the rare occasion she does get caught doing anything wrong, she can usually pout or sweet-talk her way out of it. The one time she did get detention at Hogwarts it was for something completely lame and she's probably still whining about it to herself. The prospect of getting into trouble is not one she deals with well at all. The fact that she willingly broke "rules" at Durmstrangs is a sign of how very much she hated it there.
