History: Dari has a younger sister who is also at Hogwarts, second year named Jayden Davison. Jay and Dari are as different as night and day and do not get along at all. Dari is much closer to their cousin Bri than she is to any member of her immediate family.
Her parents are the stereotypical rich, snobbish purebloods. They constantly lecture her about the proper way to behave and the proper people to associate with. Though she tries to compensate for her "poor judgement" in friends by getting top marks at school, she's essentially a constant disappointment to them. She basically hides the details of her life from them to avoid their lectures. The fact that Jay is the "perfect" one in their eyes is a source of much angst for her, though most people wouldn't know it. She doesn't wear her heart on her sleeve and people who don't know her well might question whether she has one.
In her life at school, Dari is friendly to everyone. She couldn't care less about bloodlines - all she cares about is the kind of person you are. She's comes off as very fun-loving and carefree. She is studious and bookwormy, but she also likes to have a good time. Her home life as created a lot of internal issues for her, though, and she doesn't make close friends easily. Most of her friendships are casual and superficial and while she has snogged half the male population of the school, she's never had a boyfriend or even really dated anyone. She says it's because there's no point in tying yourself to one boy when you can play with them all, but really she's just afraid of letting herself get close to anyone. The one exception is her best friend Tristina Darcy who she has known practically since birth. The two were separated when they were 7 but reunited on the train first year and Tris is probably the one person Dari really counts on. She is also close to her cousin, Gabriella Richards, but it's more of a protective type relationship. She plays the older sister role for Bri in a way she's unable to with Jay and a way that Bri is lacking from her own sisters.
Dari's first sign of magic came at the age of 5 when she managed to summon one of her favorite books from a shelf in her nursery. She was supposed to be napping, but she really wanted to read instead, so when her mother refused to get her the book, she made it come to her.
Her favorite toy when she was younger was the wizarding equivalent of a chemistry set which including some basic potions ingredients which helped to fuel her natural love and aptitude for potions.
Her mother is a healer for St. Mungos and her Father works for the Ministry of Magic in the Department for Magical Law Enforcement (he's basically the wizarding equivalent of a lawyer).
Academics: Dari is an excellent student, almost always paying attention in class, getting her work in on time, etc. She does best at her favourite subjects - Potions and Divination and did quite well on her OWLs as well. Until recently, she wasn't sure what she'd do beyond probably follow her parents' wishes for her career, but she has begin getting some guidance from her favourite professor - Professor Reginald Chandler - in that area.
Social Life: Dari doesn't really believe in love, not romatically. She's never seen the use in attaching yourself to one guy. Not when there are so many cute boys out there ;) She's flirted with and/or kissed quite a few boys. Deep down, she does wish for someting more, but she's afraid to admit that, even to herself, so she continues on with the casual encounters and playing the part of the fun-loving and carefree girl who is only after a goodtime. If Dari ever does find herself in love or any kind of relationship, it will be very much against her will.
Beyond romance, her best friend in all the world is Tristina Darcy. The girls have been friends practically since birth, though they were seperated for a few years after Tris' parents were killed. The separation damaged Dari more that anyone realizes and helped to fuel her fear of abandonment which still affects her "relationships" today. Tris is that one person who knows Dari better than anyone and will always call her on her crap.
Aside from Tris, Dari has a large group of friends and acquaintances. There are few she feels trult understood by, but she is rarely outside of the company of at least one friend unless she is taking time off to study or the like. Seeing her off to herself a lot is a sure sign that she's not feeling like herself.
Strengths/Skills: Dari is very intelligent in terms of book learning and she has a special gift for Potions. She is also skilled in Divination, which is her favorite class. Because she loves to read and learn, she has a wealth of knowledge of many subjects. Her knowledge of muggle subjects is more sketchy as she's had to hide those types of books from her family, but she is very well-read, especially when it comes to the wizarding world. In terms of personality, she is very friendly and gets on well with almost everyone. She has a lot of friends (though not super close ones) and is rarely without company unless she chooses to be. She's also a pretty good flyer, having been obsessed with quidditch since she was old enough to understand it. Her parents gave her a broom for her fifth birthday and she's been flying ever since.
Weaknesses: Dari is very naive/innocent when it comes to what is happening in the world. While she has a good intuition for people, she also likes to believe the best about them and she's very sheltered in terms of how the world works. She tends to live in her own little bubble where only the things that affect her are easily noticed and she's pretty oblivious to the darker aspects of life.
Magically, she is horrid at Transfiguration and only slightly better at Charms. She performed well in her OWLs considering, because she studied obsessively for them and basically aced the written portion to make up for a mediocre performance on the practical. She understands the theory perfectly when she reads it. She just doesn't do so well at actually performing the magic. She barely managed an E on her Charms OWL and isn't sure whether or not to be happy that only getting an A in Transfig meant she didn't have to continue the class.
Personality: Dari was born under the sign of Aquarius. Positive traits include brilliance, innovation, individuality, openness, social consciousness, inventiveness, practical skill, and self assertion; negative traits are eccentricity, lack of attachment to people and the "real world," over-intellectualizing of the emotions, a crotchety temper, rigidity, intellectual arrogance, and stubbornness. The stereotypical geeks of the magical world, Ravenclaw Aquarians are noted mostly for their genius. They are gifted theorists and inventors, and highly talented students. Most wind up doing pure research after graduating from Hogwarts. Their noses are always in books of esoteric lore. Some people may laugh at them, either for their unconventional lifestyles or (more commonly) because they are obvious nerds, but they don't care. While they can have sharp tempers, especially when they encounter ignorance or stupidity, these wizards generally mean well, and have a "live and let live" philosophy. Their wit is legendary; not everybody gets the Ravenclaw Aquarian's jokes, but those who are subtle and intelligent enough find conversation with an Aquarian Ravenclaw to be quite funny, in a satirical and ironic and irreverent sort of way.)
Her Enneagram type is 7 (The Enthusiast). People of this personality type are essentially concerned that their lives be an exciting adventure. Sevens are future oriented, restless people who are generally convinced that something better is just around the corner. They are quick thinkers who have a great deal of energy and who make lots of plans. They tend to be extroverted, multi-talented, creative and open minded. They are enthusiasts who enjoy the pleasures of the senses and who don't believe in any form of self-denial.
Sevens are practical people who have multiple skills. They know how to network and to promote themselves and their interests. They often have an entrepreneurial spirit and are able to convey their enthusiasm to those with whom they come in contact. When they are able to focus their talents, they are often highly successful. Focusing does not always come easily for Sevens, however. Their tendency to believe that something better awaits them, makes them reluctant to narrow down their options or to pursue their aims with true devotion.
The central problem for Sevens is that their pursuit of pleasure is compulsive. Sevens are fear types who are specifically afraid of the power of negative states of mind. These they avoid by seeking distractions in the external environment: by multi-tasking, by keeping their options open, by engaging in stimulation seeking of all kinds. For this reason, Sevens are more prone than most to addictions of all sorts, whether it be to shopping, gambling, drugs or whatever.
Sevens usually have a high opinion of themselves and their talents; they tend to focus on their strengths and virtues and to downplay their flaws and vices. They are often a bit self-centered which manifests in an unfounded feeling of entitlement. As Sevens don't want to confront their own darker emotions, they also have difficulty acknowledging the pain that others experience, so that they sometimes have a hard time seeing the reality of other people. The extent of the Seven's flight from negative emotions is really a measure of the Seven's mental health; the more that the Seven flees from them, the more their strength grows and the more likely they are to erupt into consciousness in the form of an anxiety disorder or a severe depressive episode.
As they are outward looking and not especially prone to introspection, it is not uncommon for Sevens to mistype themselves. Sometimes they mistype as Eights, as Sevens too can be domineering, especially if Eight is the dominant wing. But Eights are not anxious and they lack the quick, mental energy that is charateristic of the Seven. Sevens can easily mistype as Threes, but Threes are much more single minded than Sevens and don't suffer from the desire to keep all options open. Surprisingly, Sevens can mistype as Fours. When they recognize the disparity between the optimistic, fun loving persona that they project to the world and their own, often anxious internal mental states, they can confuse their pain with the melancholia of type Four. Sevens are in flight from this pain however, whereas Fours often cultivate their negative mental states.
