Colin Mayfield
Colin Taylor Mayfield is a seventh year Slytherin at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He does best in hands on classes like Potions, or History of Magic, which he has a fascination for, and not so much with classes that require a lot of wand work since he always doesn't feel like putting the effort in. Colin is a Prefect and also a beater on the Slytherin Quidditch team.
Ever since his father's death when he was ten, Colin has been somewhat aloof and detached emotionally, and able to keep his temper in check most of the time (aside from when those closest to him are insulted or hurt). Although he'd rather keep to himself or a select group of friends, he isn't afraid to say what's on his mind and is outspoken, occasionally to the point of cruelty, and sometimes lacking tact. Colin rarely opens up to anyone, but those that he does find worthy of friendship are shown a great deal of loyalty. He is a pureblood that really couldn't care less about bloodlines (but that's because he's an equal opportunity jerk XP).
Significant Relationships
Colin, Alexander Departie, Lucas Longshore, and Tobias Kinsella form up what is known as the infamous "Slytherin Quartet." To this day, it is a mystery how the four of them managed to become friends with such differing personalities -- Alex, the slightly unhinged; Lucas, the womanizing hothead; Tobias, Lucas's understudy, so to speak; and Colin, the self-proclaimed leader. Colin continually likes to give his friends a hard time, but when worse comes to worse, he is right there to defend them. Together, the quartet has wreaked a fair amount of havoc on Hogwarts, managing to piss people off wherever they go.
Alexander Varian, Colin's cousin, is a good friend of his, as they share a similar outlook on life and have practically grown up together. They enjoy fanboying their favorite band, Hatchy and the Numbers, torturing Vincent Monroe, and causing general mischief with their good friend, Caer Forelin.
Colin is very protective of his other cousin, Naia Bergren. Although it's not exactly obvious to most, they are actually close; he considers her to be one of the most dependable people he knows (good luck getting him to say as much).
Maxine Mayfield is yet another of Colin's cousins. They get along with each other, but they enjoy making fun of each other and argue fairly frequently (sometimes serious, sometimes not). He is just as protective of her as he is of Naia.
Amorisa Amherst is someone who's been close to his family, and whom Colin looks after in the same manner he does Max and Naia, and that includes keeping her away from poncy fourth year Ravenclaws.
Corina Mayfield is Colin's mother, and also the head of the Wizarding Examinations Authority. He pretty much hates her, as he suspects her of his father, Thomas's murder.
Mackenzie Wickham is Colin's girlfriend and one of his childhood best friends. Things aren't always easy -- they have their spats, and Colin is prone to bouts of jealousy. Despite all of this, he is quite devoted to her and loves her very much (he's also whipped, but shhhh). Their relationship is full of fun competition, passion, and spontaneity -- one moment, they'll have a rare tender scene in the hallways; the next they'll be dancing on the tables.

Colin's Date of Birth: January 5th, 1988
Capricorn is one of the most stable and (mostly) serious of the zodiacal types. These independent, rocklike characters have many sterling qualities. They are normally confident, strong willed and calm. These hardworking, unemotional, shrewd, practical, responsible, persevering, and cautious to the extreme persons, are capable of persisting for as long as is necessary to accomplish a goal they have set for themselves. They are reliable workers in almost any profession they undertake. They are the major finishers of most projects started by the 'pioneering' signs; with firm stick-to-it-ness they quickly become the backbone of any company they work for.
They have a great respect for authority but may not, if they reach high rank, be willing to listen to other opinions on things they are directly responsible for.
