Born in England to an American mother and English father, Ruth Ann and her family moved back to her mother's native California when she was two, as Mrs Hunter just couldn't stand the weather of the British isles. As part of the deal to move to the States, both Ruth Ann and her older brother, Jonathan (a sixth year Hufflepuff), are being sent to their father's beloved alma mater, Hogwarts, for their magical educations. Though initially adverse to being sent overseas for school, Ruth Ann conceded during her first year that the old castle wasn't too bad – it has snakes, after all! Her current life goals consist of acquiring a pet snake and successfully transfiguring a yo-yo into an owl.
