Defense Of Freedom Act

Passed by the Direktor in 1986, before the Prevanian parliament was re-created, this act (still in force) sought to ameliorate the Prevanian defences aginst a possible USSP invasion.
Main Provisions of the Act
- Article 160 - at least 1 km in every 5 km of all motorways and dual carriageways must be straight, to allow them to be used as runways in times of war. The National Road Committee was set up to oversee this and also to provide a body that could override this if the road could not possibly be straight.
- Article 198 - conscription was introduced (see Prevanian Armed Forces)
