There are three different types of government departments in Prevania:

1. Secretarial Departments - leader is known as a 'Secretary of State for ...' and has a cabinet position.
2. Ministerial Departments - less important departments run by MPs who are not given cabinet positions
3. Non-ministerial Departments - run by senior Civil Servants
