Aparna Mittal topped our batch in the entrance exam. The rumours that she was joint rank two are just malicious. Rank one never turned up and she got more marks than Faiz in the board exams. So there. Aparna made her presence felt on the first day of class when she informed us that we were an "august assemblage" and she was honored to be amongst us. Arun Sagar and Mark D'Souza were so moved at this that they had to be asked to leave class by Prof Japhet (I think).
Aparna maintained her aura of dignity through her first week, despite being ragged by the likes of Avinash Suresh and Abhishek Sharma. Aparna continued to win elections with thumping majorities, virtually decimating the opposition. This small bundle of energy
