  • Being trained gives a +5 bonus to that skill (or skill group, being traind in a skill group gives training benefit to all skills in the group).
  • Skill Focus adds a +5 bonus to a skill or skill group (instead of +3). A character must be trained in a skill to aquire focus in it.
  • In addition to this bonus, characters add their level to all trained skill modifiers, and (1/2 level, round down, minimum +0) as a bonus to all untrained skills.
  • Therefore, a character's modifier in a trained skill is equal to (level + ability modifier + 5 + 5 if focused) and rating in an untrained skill is equal to (1/2 level + ability modifier).
  • Thief levels count as 2 higher for determining skill bonus, however the Thief is trained in 10 + int skills, not 12.
  • Gaining a permanent int modifier increase grants additional trained skills as normal.
  • All skills can be used by any hero. Trained Only applies only to nonheroic characters.
  • A trait or other ability that grants "4 ranks in X skill at level 1, +1 per level after" instead grants the character training in that skill.
