Wario is the main character of the Wario series. He was originally from (and still is a major part of) the Mario series, appearing in almost all of the Mario games. He's also a character in Super Smash Brothers.
Wario, being one of the most unique and funniest Nintendo characters to be in Super Smash Brothers, currently has no friends, and is treated like an outcast.
Wario was originally the Fart Joke king, but May (now the Fart Joke queen) stole the title from him. Wario continues to grieve over this, and thus, resorts to beating up Mario to cheer up.
