What qualifications do I need to start a Nourish chapter?

  • Drive, determination and a desire to make a real impact on the world are the most important qualities new chapter leaders should have. As long as you start with those things the skills needed to run an effective chapter can be learned.

How much money do we need to generate?

  • Our projects have ranged from $5,000 to $26,000 in cost. Most cost between $5,000 and $10,000

Are proceeds used for funding travel?

  • No. Students are responsible for obtaining their own travel funds. This is due to the high cost of student travel in comparison to the cost of the project.

What are the core components of a Nourish chapter?

  • There are two major components of a Nourish International chapter. The first is ventures. Ventures are the businesses that chapters run on campus to raise money. The second is projects. Projects are the service trips that chapters organize for the summer.

Can we do non-food related projects?

  • Absolutely! We don't restrict your free will in choosing the projects you want to go on. The reason we initially focused on food was that the hunger crisis is one of the most pressing & important challenges faced by the developing world. Nutrition and agriculture projects are also very cost effective in terms of impact for dollars spent and provide undergraduates with something that they can participate in.
