Biju

Biju (尾獣) are tailed creatures in the Naruto anime and manga. They possess terrific power and can destroy entire cities. However, in order to get rid of them, the people locked each of the nine Biju inside Jinchuriki (人柱力) to prevent them from terrorizing humanity again. However, the organization Akatsuki wishes to release them for a unknown reason. Id the jinchuriki dies, the Biju dies, and id the Biju is removed, the Jinchuriki dies. In that way they are dependant of each other.

Shukaku was sealed into Gaara by Chiyo. The Shukaku's thirst for blood lead it to kill everything in sight. The Jinchuriki has the power to levitate sand at will, though the Biju drives the Jinchuriki to madness.
