Uzumaki Naruto (うずまきナルト) Is the main character of the anime and manga series Naruto.

Naruto's birthday is October 10, the day when the character was concieved. Naruto constantly ends up in the top two of the Shonen Jump character polls. He is the Jinchuriki of Kyubi.

Backstory

Uzumaki Naruto was born on October 10. When he ws still a baby, the Kyubi was sealed into him by the Fourth Hokage of Konohagakure. The Fourth hokage wished that Naruto could have been seen as the hero who contained the Kyubi and saved Konohagakure. However, the people of Konoha felt hatred for Naruto, as he contained the spirit of the Kyubi.

Naruto had a lonely childhood. The 3rd Hokage ordered that no one speak of the incident with the fox, but many still hated him, and many of their children inherited this hate. However, he befriended Umino Iruka who became a fatherly figure to Naruto, and had a lasting impact on Naruto's life.

Naruto I Arc

Begginigs

Naruto is a loser at the beggining of the series. He had failed to graduate from the Ninja Academy two times prior to the beggining of the story. It's his third try, and it all seems as he cannot graduate this time either. However, one day, one of his superiors named Mizuki tricks him into stealing a forbidden jutsu scroll without getting blamed. He claims that he can pass the academy if he learns the technique in the scroll. Naruto steals this scroll and learns the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu. Once Naruto finds out that he has been tricked, he defeats Mizuki and graduates for learning such an advanced technique.

Team 7, Consisted by Uzumaki Naruto, Uchiha Sasuke and Haruno Sakura

Naruto ends up in Team 7 with Uchiha Sasuke and Haruno Sakura, and their leader being Hatake Kakashi.

Journey To The Mist Country

Naruto felt that the missions that he was being given as a Genin were too easy. When he demended the Third Hokage to give him a harder mission, he gave it to him in the form ofTazuna the bridge builder, who needs to be escorted to Kirigakure. However, after an attack by ninja, "Tazuna" reveals that the missions was actually a much higher level than he had paid for. He was being sought after by an assassin named Momochi Zabuza, hired by Gato to eliminate "Tazuna" and prevent a bridge, connecting the "Land of Waves" to the mainland, from being completed. They stay to protect him, even though the mission should have been designated for "Chunin" or "Jonin".

In their first encounter, "Zabuza" traps "Kakashi" within "Water Prison Jutsu". However, "Naruto" and "Saskue" get over their rivalry, and free "Kakashi", who then uses the "Sharingan" to copy his "Giant Vortex Jutsu". Before "Zabuza" could be defeated, his accomplice, "Haku", disguised as a "hunter ninja", put him into a temporary death state, and took him away.

In their second encounter, "Haku" traps "Naruto" and "Saskue" in his "Crystal Ice Mirrors", while "Kakashi" faces off against "Zabuza", who has already developed a counter measure for the "Sharingan". Unlocking his own, "Saskue" almost hits "Haku" with his "Fireball Jutsu". Before he can go again, "Haku" seemingly kills him. Naruto, in a fit of rage, unleashes the chakra of the "Nine-tailed Fox", and uses it to defeat Haku, who them gives his life to save Zabuza from "Kakashi's" "Lighting Blade". Realizing his mistake, Zabuza gives his life to kill Gato, who was prepared to kill everyone in the village, including "Zabuza".

Feeling that the village owed a debt to "Naruto", "Tazuna" names the finished bridge "The Great Naruto Bridge".

The Chuunin Exams

Straight out from their mission to Kirigakure, Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura get admitted into the Chunin Exams. Before entering, "Saskue" is challenged to a fight by "Rock Lee", who, like "Naruto", has a crush on "Sakura". Even with the "Sharingan", "Lee" wins, because "Saskue's" body couldn't copy "Lee's" movements. However, "Might Guy", his sensei and "Kakashi's" rival, steps in and stops the fight before "Lee" uses "Primary Lotus". The first portion of the exam is a written test, which in fact is meant to test the student's courage and information gathering skills, proctored by "Morino Ibiki". Naruto survived this test because of his courage, because he didn't fear the last question, even though he didn't answer a single question, because he didn't figure out that the goal (other than courage) was to cheat.

The second test, proctored by Mitarashi Anko was to take a Heaven Scroll from another team (if you had the Earth Scroll, and vice versa) and reach the end of The Forest of Death before time ran out. Team 7 did not fare so well entering the forest, they were attacked by Orochimaru, former "Sanin" of "Konoha". During the battle, he resealed "Naruto's" nine-tailed chakra, knocking him out. After "Saskue" and "Orochimaru's" battle, he leaves the "Curse Mark of Heaven" on him, also knocking him out, leaving Sakura all by herself. While the team recovered, "Dosu", "Zaku", and "Kin", 3 of "Orochimaru's" ninjas, attacked, their supposed goal being to kill "Saskue". After numerous attempts to protect them by "Lee" and the "Ino-Shika-Cho Trio", "Saskue" reawakened, his "Curse Seal" ablaze, and broke "Zaku's" arms. The other two ninja's retreated. With one day before the time would run out, "Team 7" joins up with "Kabuto", a secret spy of "Orochimaru", whom they met before the first exam. Together, they defeat a squad of rain ninja, one of whom posed as "Naruto" before "Orochimaru" showed up, and got the scroll. Before the third exam, Naruto was taught by a hermit named Jiraiya how to summon and control the Kyubi's power. The third exam was cut short when a assasination attempt was conducted. Orochimaru and the Sunagakure Ninjas. Naruto at the time was battling Sabaku no Gaara, whom he defeated. Gaara had the Shukaku inside him like Naruto had the Kyubi inside him, so he felt sympathy for Gaara.

Search For Tsunade

After the Chunin Exams, Naruto and Jiraiya set out on a mission to find the new Hokage after the death of the Third Hokage. They came across Tsunade, the perfect woman for the job. Of course, Tsunade was no whee near willing to be Hokage. On the way, Jiraiya taught Naruto the Rasengan technique. Jiraiya, Naruto and Tsunade came across Orochimaru who was tring to get Tsunade to help him as well. It ened in a fight, where Naruto finally got the Rasengan technique, using it effectively against Kabuto. In the end, Tsunade agrees to become the Fifth Hokage.

Sasuke Rescue Mission

After Naruto returns, it is found out that Sasuke is tempted to join the Otogakure. Sasuke accepts because he wants to earn power that he can only get from Orochimaru. Naruto is determined to make Sasuke realize that what he's doing is wrong, and that he should return. After many battles, there is one final face off between Naruto and Sasuke. They both end up wouded, but Sasuke escapes. Naruto is determined to bring back Sasuke no matter what, so he goes into a two and a half year training session with Jiraiya.

Naruto II Arc

2 and a half years after the events prior, Naruto returns to Konohagakure. He reunites with his old comrades, and his team leader Kakashi.

Journey to the Land of Wind

Team 7 goes on a rescue mission after they find out that the Kazekage, Gaara has been kidnapped. Naruto, who feels sympathy for Gaara for sharing similar experiences, sets out determined to rescue him. This is not the case however, as the kidnappers, Akatsuki kill Gaara while extracting the Shukaku from his body. However, with the help of a Sand healer named Chiyo he is able to restore Gaara to life in exchange for Chiyo's life.

The Bridge of Heaven and Earth Mission

Kakashi, being injured from his previous battle, could not join Naruto and Sakura in this mission. He is replaced with Yamato, and Team 7 has a new member named Sai after Sasuke betrayed Konohagakure.

Naruto in his Kyubi form

They go to the mission to meet with Kabuto who is apparently Sasori's spy. However, they fall into a trap set aside by Orochimaru. The Kyubi talkes over Naruto completely, altering his physical appearance into a fox. This move slowly kills Naruto so Yamato is forced to stop him. They follow Orochimaru into his lair where they find Sasuke. Sasuke is an entirely different person and Team 7 was not happy with it. After their encounter, they return to Konohagakure safely.

Elemental Training

Currently in the story, Naruto is training in his wind type chakra. Doing this, he wants to make his most powerful technique yet to defeat Orochimaru and Sasuke.
