We lived in the Southeast Metro area of Atlanta, when my kids were growing up. I’ve never forgotten when my youngest now, twenty four was just about three years old. He got a fever from what seemed to be nowhere. I remember holding him in my oldest son’s bedroom, sitting on the floor. I was at wit’s end. All of a sudden,I just began praying for him. I didn’t quite know what to pray, but I rebuked the fever as Jesus did. That’s mostly what I remember from the prayer. I wasn’t through praying for him, when his nose started to bead up with sweat. The fever left him, immediately! Wow! He still remembers that!When I pray, I like to tell God, it is for His honor and glory, so it’s only right that I share these praise reports.About two weeks ago my husband, Scott got sick. He had the problem years ago, and it poisons his system. He was sick for a few days and it continued to grow worse. I texted my little family prayer group to pray. And I told Scott that if he wasn’t better by 5:00 p.m., that I would call 911 to take him to the hospital. At about 4:00, he started getting better. The infection began leaving his body. Glory to God!The next day,, my daughter texted me. Our grandson was running a fever or 103.5. She took him to the Doctor, after asking us to be in prayer. We started our little prayer chain. After giving him ibuprofen, his fever went up, instead of down. Concerned by this the doctor sent him to a children’s hospital for blood tests. They were there for quite some time before they were even to begin the tests, but right before they got him ready to begin blood work, his little nose started to bead with sweat and his fever broke. He was released with unspecified causes. Praise the Lord! The following day, my daughter in law texted me. Our grand daughter had a fever of 103.3. We began praying for her. Her fever broke a little later. The cause could have been her cutting four teeth.My son-in-law had lost his job. He needed one, with a wife and three children to support. Thank God he found one.Do all of our prayers get answered so quickly? The Holy Name of Mary Folk Group comprised of preteens, teenagers, adults and musicians under the supervision of Renee Socci, kicked off the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ singing “On a Silent Night”, “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”, “The Little Drummer Boy Peace on Earth and “African Gloria”. The selection was fun, upbeat and moving with outstanding solos from Sima Casillo and Billy O’Brien. The Folk Group livens the family Mass,, every Sunday at 10:30.
Second in the lineup was the Holy Name of Mary Filipino Choir,http: www.ajugarbingo.es image catalog prodesc reboldktenis nike-sakunike-air-180.jpg,, full of smiles and eager to perform the traditional “Kumu-kuti-kutitap” and “Pasko na Sinta Ko” in their own language. Prior to their performance,the Director, Edwin Bergancia discussed the different languages singing, but “we all speak the language of God’s love”.
Not to be outdone was the Holy Name of Mary Hispanic Choir under the direction of Jose Nunez and his acoustic guitar who sang the festive and traditional carols of “Noche Estrellado”,.es image catalog prodesc asicspain170107 asicsonitsukatigermexicoasics-fuerte.jpg, “Un Mensage Hecho Cancion”, “Noel”, and everyone’s favorite, “Feliz Navidad”.
The final group to perform was the Holy Name of Mary Adult Chorale conducted by Kevin Faughey. After the procession of the music ministries, the Adult Chorale introduced the evening with “Of The Father’s Love Begotten”. During the Chorale’s segment they sang beautifully “O Come, O Come,, Emmanuel”, Mozart’s “Magnificat”, and Handel’s “Joy to the World” and “The Hallelujah Chorus” to which the congregation was asked to stand as is traditionally done.
The concert ended with the combined choirs singing “O Holy Night” with angelic soloist Renee Socci and the congregation singing along to “Angels we Have Heard on High”, “Silent Night”, “Hark, the Herald Angels Sing” and finally “O Come All Ye Faithful”.
Beautiful music and Gospel readings in English and Spanish that praise Jesus Christ,unite cultures and celebrate the season of Advent is a glorious way to remember what Christmas is truly about.

In his all out effort to stop what would be the end of his career in local politics, El Paso, TX Mayor John Cook has failed to stop a recall election against him and two city council members. A church,several ministries, and others had circulated petitions for his recall and the two city council members because of Cook’s unconstitutional actions.
However, that didn’t stop the mayor and his unconstitutional acts, because he filed suit against those who circulated recall petitions in an effort to scare them into submission. But on Monday, a state judge officially denied Cook’s request for a preliminary injunction to stop the election; the case is ongoing with a trial set for June.
Cook sued Tom Brown Ministries,Word of Life Church of El Paso, El Pasoans for Traditional Family Values, and other local citizens to silence them from speaking out against the mayor’s policies that impact El Paso families. Alliance Defense Fund attorneys,, who represent the parties being attacked by Cook,,filed a counterclaim against him that is still pending before the court.“Churches and ministries shouldn’t live in fear of being punished by the government for exercising their constitutionally protected right to free speech,said ADF Senior Legal Counsel Joel Oster,http: www.ajugarbingo.es image catalog prodesc reboldktenis chaquetas-nike-mujercomprar-asics-padel.jpg, who argued before the court on behalf of the parties sued by Cook. “The mayor is seeking to silence those who oppose his policies because he doesn’t like their views, but that’s neither legal nor constitutional. In response to the council’s defiance of the people’s expressed will, a grassroots recall campaign sought to remove the mayor and council members who ignored the vote of the people. The mayor then filed suit alleging that the church violated Texas election law by circulating a petition.
ADF attorneys have filed a federal suit against the law to have it declared unconstitutional.
