Internet television (otherwise known as Internet TV, or Online TV) is the digital distribution of television content via the Internet. It should not be confused with Web television - short programs or videos created by a wide variety of companies and individuals, or Internet protocol television (IPTV) - an emerging internet technology standard for use by television broadcasters. Some Internet television is known as catch-up TV. Internet Television is a general term that covers the delivery of television shows and other video content over the internet by video streaming technology, typically by major traditional television broadcasters. It does not describe a technology used to deliver content (see Internet protocol television). During the two-hour hearing, most experts said that the Chinese Yuan is indeed undervalued,, and the appreciation of the Yuan will benefit both sides: warming up the US economy while cooling down the heating Chinese economy.

However,, Professor Ferguson from Harvard University did not agree. He says the US should not take protectionist measures towards China since it's still in recession. He suggests the US learn from the recession in the 1930s,, when trade protectionism slowed down its economic recovery. He says not only is a trade war on the verge of breaking out,, but a currency war is only a hairtrigger away.

Ferguson says China is becoming the engine of the world economy,, and has taken the lead in the recovery. So if the US squeezes China too much,, it may snuff out the recovery, bringing a deeper crisis for the world economy.

U.S. exports to China hit about 70 billion US$in 2009 -- representing a flat growth during 2008 that analysts attribute to the global economic slowdown.

Her shoes, leaving a deep footprint on my heart, I can't sweep it away. All I can do is stare at them and wonder, stare at their laces and straps their buttons and tread. They still connect me to her though, in some distant bizarre way they do. I can remember the good times we had,, what pair she was wearing at that moment in time. They are hers and no else's, she wore down the heels, and she scuffed their sides,, it's her fragile footprint imbedded on the insole. I sit on the floor next to them and wonder how many places had she gone while wearing these shoes, how many miles she walked in them, what pair was she wearing when she decided to leave me? I pick up a high heel she often wore and absently smell it,, it's not disgusting I think, it's just the last tangible link I have to her. The last bit of reality I have of her. She left her shoes; she took everything else, except her shoes. They remain at the bottom of my closet, a shrine to her memory.

It seemed funny to me, she walked out of my life without her shoes, is that irony,, or am I thinking of something else? In a way I was glad they were still here, she would have to come back for them , right? I mean how could she go on with the rest of her life without her shoes? But she's not coming back, I know she isn't, she would rather walk barefoot over glass than have to see me again. But Christ she left all of her shoes,! All of them, every sneaker, boot and sandal, every high heel and clog, every flip-flop. What do I do? Do I leave them here, or bag them up and throw them in the trash? Do I look at them every morning when I get dressed and wonder why she left them? She knew it, she knows what's she's doing. I can't throw them out for fear she may return for them someday. I can't be rid of myself of her completely with all her shoes still in my life, can't dispose of them or the person that walked in them.

She left her shoes,, she took everything else, her toothbrush, her clothes, and even that stupid little silver vase on the table we kept candy in. Just dumped it out on the table and took the vase. The tiny apartment we shared seemed different now,, her stuff was gone, it wasn't much really, although now the room seemed like a jigsaw puzzle with a few pieces missing,, incomplete. The closet seemed empty too; most of it was her stuff anyway. But there they were at the bottom, piled up like they usually were, every single one of them. Why did she leave her shoes? She couldn't have forgotten them, I knew too well that she took great pride in her shoe collection, but there they still were, right down to her favorite pair of sandals. SAN FRANCISCO, May 7 (Reuters) -- Google Inc Chief Executive Eric Schmidt said he expects more regulatory scrutiny from around the world and the company is paying more attention to the way it approaches certain business issues as a result of the attention.

But Schmidt told reporters it had not crossed his mind to recuse himself from the board of Apple Inc,, even as the U.S. Federal Trade Commission looks into whether the ties between the two companies violate antitrust laws.

Schmidt,, along with former Genentech CEO Arthur Levinson,, sits on both companies' boards. Schmidt said he did not consider Google and Apple to be primary competitors, and that he recuses himself when competitive issues are discussed.

Google General Counsel Kent Walker confirmed media reports that the company is "in pending" discussions with the FTC concerning their two shared directors. But he said the law provides a safe harbor for mutual shareholders in cases where there is no overlapping revenue.

"What is changed is that we are more careful about when and how we do things which are going to raise concerns of any party," Schmidt told a room of journalists at the company's Mountain View, California headquarters ahead of its annual shareholder meeting on Thursday.

"But it hasn't prevented us from doing them," Schmidt added.

Shareholders at the meeting voted to reelect Google's board of directors and to approve its external auditing firm and amendments to its stock plan.

A trio of shareholder proposals concerning the company's political contributions, Internet censorship and universal healthcare did not receive sufficient votes.

YOUTUBE TO BE PROFITABLE

Schmidt said recent cost-saving measures at Google have made the Internet search leader more efficient and have not hampered innovation.

Company executives who appeared alongside Schmidt at the media briefing said Google was looking at ways to generate money from the surge of social networking activity on the Internet, as well as at ways of integrating microblogging capabilities,, such as those popularized by Twitter,, into its search product.

Google has monetized "hundreds of millions" of videos on its YouTube video site,, executives said,, and the company has recently introduced new types of ads such as video pre-rolls that are streamed before a clip begins playing.

Schmidt would not address a recent report that YouTube,, which Google acquired for $1.6 billion in 2006,, could lose more than $400 million this year.

"What we said is we believe YouTube will eventually be a successful and a profitable business and it will take some time to do it," Schmidt said.

He also declined to comment on reports that Google's Android mobile operating system, currently featured in smartphones, could turn up in the new breed of miniature laptops known as netbooks.

But Schmidt said the use of netbooks fits nicely with the so-called cloud computing model that Google believes in.

Google shares edged up to $397.03 in extended trading from their Nasdaq close of $396.61.
