+ | OK, the move is almost done. But, it may take people days for their comps to recognize the server change. Thankfully, Steve gave us a shortcut to make the waiting time 0 days, 0 hours, 0 minutes, and 0 seconds. When the move's done, you'll see the wiki right away if you do the following. You'll be editing one of your computer's core files:
+ | #Go to the following: C drive > WINDOWS > system32 > drivers > etc
+ | #Open the "hosts" file. When given a list of programs, use a text editor like Notepad.
+ | #Add the following to the end, on a new line:
66.7.207.124 www.mariowiki.com
| ||
+ | #Save. Your comp now knows the new address of MarioWiki, without having to wait. At the time of this message you'll see a green server message, but not an error message on mariowiki. Later today the wiki will be back.

smaller logo, please Max2
- Why? 72.213.167.17 is it too big?
- Slightly. Dimensions should be <= 150px, height and width. 66.31.209.239 20:31, 12 June 2007 (EDT)
Um... I can't click the link to my real page. Max2

New Main/User News
WTF HAPPENED TO THE MAIN PAGE?!?!?! :O Max2 We're not an "anything goes" wiki, we're not totally fake, you're making it look like UnMario!
- sorry, i didn't know i wasn't allowed to edit it. It wasn't protected... -- W L* Movie Updates 09:53, 20 June 2007 (EDT)
'tis K... sorry I snapped. Max2 But, who agrees about the User News?
(moved)
'K, what would it have, who'd be the writers, who'd be the director? --Xzelion (Talk)
User Stuff. I guess we'd have a sign-up, I'll be director (If I'm allowed). Max2 If it's an OK, we don't make the first issue until we've got a few sections.
OK. I'll make a sign-up page!
User News(poll closed)
we should make a newspaper on this wiki, since, well, we have an active community, good users, why not? Max2
We have a good size community. about 10 users. It's just early, not a lot of people are on right now. Max2 Wait until like, lunchtime.
Agree, we need one
Nah, not enough users
- We want at least a bunch of active users to see the first issue, or its just us SMW members reading it
-- W L* Movie Updates 10:12, 20 June 2007 (EDT)
I dunno
Protected
Now the main page doesn't really need to be protected. Not until we actually get some content here. Anyway, any ideas for a main page? Smiddle 14:57, 21 June 2007 (EDT)
- Li'm working on it :P --Xzelion (Talk)
- If you unprotect it, I can see what I can do. What should be on it? Links to users? Stuff? Et cetera? Smiddle 16:00, 21 June 2007 (EDT)
- I am not good at making main pages. it's complicated somewhat.
-- W L* Movie Updates 16:44, 21 June 2007 (EDT)
I am a bit. I just need some ideas for content. And "borrowing" MarioWiki's is not a good idea. Smiddle 06:01, 26 June 2007 (EDT)
actually, copying a bit of MarioWiki's (as in, not the whole page) would be better. I mean, this wiki is a... sub-wiki of MarioWiki! -Max
- I still think an original would be the best. Any ideas on what we can have? I can make the tables 'n stuff. Smiddle 12:03, 26 June 2007 (EDT)
- I have ideas. How about we have a couple of boxes, one with links to stuff like Users, Places, Characters, Sprites, etc. and another for Games, Comics, Movies, Stories, etc. ? Like, one box could be titled "The Users", and another could be called "Wikon", or something else meging either "Wiki" and "Canon" or merging "Users" and "canon". -1337Yoshi 20:15, 26 June 2007 (EDT)
Feel free to edit user:Smiddle/mainpage. Smiddle 13:02, 28 June 2007 (EDT)
MarioWiki
I can't get to it! Is there somehing wrong with my cpu? -Max
It works perfectly for me -- W L* Movie Updates 22:58, 1 July 2007 (EDT)
It's down!!!!! STEVE DIDN'T PAY! Super Luigi 821
Ya, it will be until he pays. PLUMs 15:59, 2 July 2007 (EDT)
PAY STEVE PAY!!!! Guys I found a way to get in the Mariowiki chat even if the wiki is down! Go to smbhq.com, go to chatroom, join the chatroom type in /join Mariowiki then we'll talk. I hope it works. TRY IT (Edit: Wait i think it does work! IT WORKS!) Super Luigi 821
Just forget it, I can't get it on. Hope you can... Super Luigi 821
Go on MFGG's forums, go to Chat, type /join mariowiki
It works. -Max But, you have to be a member. Just... hold on... hm... I could... but nah.
I have an idea! Go to darkmyst, click chat now, then where it says what channel, type MW Bean
Wait, nvm, it didn't work, :(. Bean 16:40, 2 July 2007 (EDT)
Good thing I'm a member there. Guys, see ya in chat. Super Luigi 821
Logo
can someone please make the invisible logo smaller? -Max I can't go to my Userpage unless I come to this talk.
- I think I can. Smiddle 05:29, 2 July 2007 (EDT)
Image Space
what should we do about it? -Max
I have a proposal about it
Max's Gallery Imaging Space Plan
We make a commitee that deletes all images that are in Galleries, and uploads them externally.
Comments? -Max
Bean 16:31, 2 July 2007 (EDT) It's seems like a good idea, I like it.
I only brought it up, because I checked and we are running out of image space. Of course, It seems most images in galleries are only in that gallery, but some, like This that are also on a page can stay. -Max
- I really don't want to advertise, but on ElWiki you can get how much image space as you want (well, not infitite, but you get it). Smiddle 16:44, 2 July 2007 (EDT)
ElWiki? Do you have to pay? Smiddle, that's not advertizing. That's helping. Anyway, do you have to pay? -Max Maybe we should/could move.
Sorry, this won't work. The filter will likely identify most images as spam. I tried to show WL an image I made, only to be stopped. PLUMs 17:06, 2 July 2007 (EDT)
??? filter? -Max What Filter? and how?
Editthisinfo has a filter, and it stops picoodle from working. That's all I have to say. PLUMs
What Happened on the Wiki
Well, Steve finally came on. Short & simple: we are on a shared server (meaning other web sites are hosted on it), and the Central Processing Unit on the server was being overused by us. After a few months, it's time for another server move. This should also fix the speed problems I've heard about today. The move will be made by tomorrow. However, it could take more days for people to get the wiki back, and at varying times. For now, you don't need to refresh Mwiki, praying for it to come back, until tomorrow. :P
The chat room is still open. If it doesn't work on Darkmyst, try something else... Wayoshi 19:20, 2 July 2007 (EDT)
Ok. -Max
Yay. Super Luigi 821
