The Empire of New Desdinova

Overview

The Empire was formerly a collection of independent, warring countries before they were united under the banner of the Warlord Desdinova. An empathetic man, it saddened him to see his neighbors in a perpetual state of war, with peace lasting for only a few years at any given time before a new conflict would erupt. For the sake of peace, he began a campaign of conquest that lasted nearly 40 years, finally uniting the disjointed kingdoms under one banner. At the end of his campaign, he immediately began a series of public works, trying to rebuild and feed his new Empire before his death two years later.

His current successor, Desdinova XXIV, continues the tradition set forth by his ancestors, and the Empire is largely regarded as the jewel of the civilized world.

Major Organizations

Redarms The Redarms are the Empire's combination of police force and military. As the Empire is largely unconcerned with maintaining a military presence outside of its borders, the main role of the Redarms is to keep the peace at home. Although there is a rigorous screening process to keep out bullies and the like, the occasional bad apple finds its way into the ranks.
