Description
Second Life is an online world where users/players create their own virtual avatar and interact with others in a 3D online virtual world that is created by its users. Second Life is seen by most in the games industry as a piece of social software, a 3D world chat room where players create their own fun activities.
Gameplay
There is no formal gameplay within the world of Second Life as there is in other online worlds and games. Instead, Second Life is an online social space where the play takes the form of social interactions and content creation.
The world of Second Life itself is devoid of any goals for user/players, instead relying upon the creativity of the users themselves in order to create activities and events for users. Users are given the freedom to create and do as they wish within the game world. Actual play comes in the form of item creation and editing using the in-built modelling tools.

User-Created Content
A majority of the online world of Second Life is created by its users. Using the in-world scripting language, players can create what ever they wish, from clothing to cars and homes. Players can also use other software programmes, such as 3D modelling programmes, in order to create more complex items.
