[edit] Character Background
The original idea for Maevis was born out of pure boredom. Kender needed a new character then his original Garfunkel Greenbottle. What he thought up was a ninja with legendary powers. Maevis' first appearance was on Anime High before Kender was kicked off the board. Since then, Maevis has gone through several versions but the one thing that stays the same is the mind behind him.

[edit] Chill Armor
Maevis can summon into being a thick layer of ice that can cover his forearms in a protective sheeth of ice making him able to hit harder and able to take blows on his arms. The ice is about 6 1/2" thick and is just normal ice. It melts faster in warmer climates and slower in colder. It takes up most of his concentration, causing him to be on auto pilot most of the time. He has gotten better about being able to concentrate with the power in recent months.

A escape only effect, Maevis can cause a flash of light and a area of ice and snow to appear by just focusing his energy into a sharp burst. It causes his eyes to start changing color to a light blue.
[edit] Personality
Maevis has a cold air around him, reflecting his inner power on the outside. There is only one thing that he gets angry about. He absolutely hates it when someone challenges him and he hates any governing body as after affect of the experiments performed on him. This has led to Maevis being extremely paranoid of all government bodies. He knows, the problem is that hates what he thought was the government and the fact that they didn't do anything until it was too late. He imagines that they knew about it the whole time and they were just waiting until there was a success in the program till they shut down the lab.
Because of the testing done on him, Maevis has a tendency to black out and not be himself. He becomes distant and is very violent. It only happens very rarely, but has caused Maevis to push away anyone who becomes close to him. The one tell tale sign of this is that his eyes turn into a almost pure white with just a shade of blue.
Maevis has had little to no contact with the outside world, causing him to develop annoying traits and a weird sense of humor. He has three habits that annoy others. The first and second are a twirling of a gold coin he has and the tapping of his foot respectfully. He does the first while sitting down and the second while standing up. His third habit is that he has a addictive personality. He is a chain smoker and a cocaine user. He has become addicted to cocaine in the lab and smoking shortly afterwards. He also has developed a queer sense of humor. He finds humor in things that are serious and doesn't laugh with others.

Born in 1992, Maevis was immediately handed over to the Unites States shadow government. They placed him in the program that would become known as the 'Second Human Genome Project.' It was here that Maevis was poked and prodded to find out what separates Meta-Humans and Humans. He was led to belive that he was made a Meta-Human but has his doubts about that now.
In 2002, when he was 10, Maevis met Patrick O'Toole. The two bonded and became friends. Patrick's father worked for the factory as a guard so he brought Patrick hoping that Maevis would bond with him, making him easier to control and less likely to try rebel. Patrick was the only person who was able to bring Maevis out of his blacked out state, making him a member of the staff as soon as it became evident.
Late last year, Maevis was freed from the factory under the guise that the experiment was found out by the military. He led the marines in and tore into the guards. Afterwards, Maevis found out about MHS and enrolled.

-After meeting Amber, the two of them went out for some tea. It was here that Maevis learned the truth about being let go and that the factory was hunting for him.
