[edit] MPS
Metapost PostScript (MPS) is the PostScript file output by MetaPost. It is a normal PostScript file, however, MetaPost uses only a subset of all allowed PostScript instructions. As a result, MPS files are supported by some application that do not support full PostScript (for example pdflatex).
[edit] EPS
Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) is a standalone PostScript file with bounding-box information.
