All prepped media should conform to the following conventions: Each piece will be lowercase, and will not contain spaces. There will be 5 sections - designated by the first 4 letters then followed by an underscore:
Example:
* Student Galleries: stud_ * Alumni: alum_ * Faculty: facu_ * Course Content: cour_ * Global Navigation: glob_
This will be followed by a subsection consisting of the majors and will be designated by the first letter of the major, with the exception of the faculty section where last names will be used instead.
Example:
* General: g * Integrated Media: i * Journalism: j * Film Studies: f
This will be followed by a serial number in case there are more than one of each object:
Example:
* 01 * 02 * 03
The serial number will be followed by the standard extension for that type of file type.
Example:
* Images: .jpg .gif * Videos: .flv * Audio: .mp3 * Text/Html: .txt .html * Flash: .swf
Preproduction files will use the same naming conventions however, they will be given version numbers.
Example:
* stud_g_v01.jpg
Thumbnails will be saved with a “th_” preceding the file name in order to distinguish them from their full size version.
Example:
*th_stud_01.jpg
