The mushroom was the most common.It would mke Mario grow and would protect him for 1 hit.In the Mario Kart series,they would give your car a speed boost.




Fire Flower
Another common item,the fire flower would give mario the ability to throw fire balls at his foes.

Super Leaf

The super leaf let mario fly away and whip his tail at enimies.He looked like a racoon with it.

Frog Suit

This frog suit lets mario swim easaly.However on land,you hop around like a frog instead of walking and you can not run.
