Goombella is the first to join Mario in Paper Mario:the Thousand Year Door.She is depicted as a smart and sassy Goomba.She wishes to become an archaeologist someday much like Kooper.She is a student of U Goom University.Mario meets her when a group of X-nauts attack her.After being saved she joins Mario in his adventure.At the end of the game she fufills her dream by becoming Professer Frankley's assistant.It seems as though she is in love with Mario.
