Toronto Metro

From Mardecristal

(Redirected from Metro de Toronto)

The subway system in Canada's 2nd largest city.

Three of the lines (orange, green, violet) are a steel wheel system, mostly underground.

One (blue) is an automatic VAL-type system.

In the 1980's, a new rapid tram network ("métro léger") was developped for the centre of the city, similar to the tramways in Paris, France. Two lines operate so far: red (Gare Nationale to Spadina) and brown (Gare Natioanle to Parc des Expositions)

Operated by the RTRT (Régie des Transports de la Région de Toronto).

The RTRT also operates an extensive street tramway and bus network.
