no part of your life is true;

The elder daughter of parents of Cantonese descent, who had originally come from Hong Kong but moved to the United States, Angeline was never exactly very interested in her heritage. She learned Cantonese only after much nagging, didn't really care too much about where her parents had come from, far more interested in American things and ways. Loud, showy, and disobedient, Angeline was the exact opposite of her quiet younger sister, Ariel: she was spoiled, selfish, wildly outgoing, and just because of the sheer force of her personality and her reckless actions, her parents were forced to give her more attention then her sister, and as a result, she was always in the limelight: she craved attention.

Even though Alexandria, Virginia was rather quiet, and she dreamed of living some glamorous place, like New York or Los Angeles, Angeline was close enough to Washington, DC, that she was never bored. As she grew up, she grew apart from Ariel, grew impatient with her quiet nervous little sister, preferred leaving her behind. And that was the start of a chain of events that would forever change her life.

One day, she was supposed to pick Ariel up from school, but instead elected to go shopping, thinking that her sister could wait a few hours, or their mom could pick her up. Their mom did pick her up, but Ariel never got home: there was a car accident, and while their mom lived, Ariel died on the operating table. Supposedly. Angeline was inconsolable at the funeral, no matter that no one blamed her, she knew it was her fault.

And less then two weeks later, she was taking a walk, when she saw this store that sold jewelry, that had just opened. She went in to look for something, perhaps something to put on her sister's grave.

The girl that walked back out wasn't Angeline, though she wore her face.

Angeline herself had been dragged through the Thorns by a True Fae calling himself Sage of the Earth Zhu Lo Pan, who kidnapped green-eyed Asian girls to ensure his immortality. He put her in his garden, among the peach trees, where she remained for several years, sometimes tending them, sometimes just "meditating" on their qualities, until she soaked in the beauty of the peach trees.

Until she, one day, saw a girl crying in another part of the garden, and something familiar called to her. As it turned out, it was her sister, who had been taken by the same Keeper earlier. And that spurred Angeline on to leave, taking Ariel with her.

But it was too late, though she got them out. Ariel's mind hadn't been able to take what had happened to her, and soon, she couldn't distinguish reality and fantasy, no matter how much Angeline tried to take care of her, tried to anchor her. She didn't know where she was, or who she was, or who Angeline was, nothing seemed to reach her, to touch her.

Until, finally, one night in a rundown hotel room, Angeline realized the hard truth-that Ariel wasn't going to get better. That she was only going to get worse, and it was all her fault, and she couldn't stand seeing her like that anymore. She put her to bed, and sang her to sleep, said 'I love you' though Ariel didn't understand anymore, and snapped her neck.

Alone again, Angeline drifted from place to place, from man to man.

Until she came to Memphis.

the last time you cared about anything;

Angeline is not a nice girl, no matter what her ability to act makes her seem so sweet. She is self-absorbed, selfish, and spoiled, even after her Durance, craves attention and the limelight, tries to seem nothing but harmless and vapid, a ditzy beauty queen with not a thought in her head other then pretty clothes, makeup, and hot guys (admittedly, she really likes pretty clothes, makeup, and hot guys, so it's not entirely an act). She is actually extremely intelligent and cunning, manipulative and, well, an pretty pretty evil princess, adept at using people to get her way in the end. She doesn't hold much personal attachment or caring for people anymore, since she killed the last person she cared about in the world.

At the same time, Angeline is fundamentally damaged, psychotic, not quite understanding the value of people's lives anymore. After all, all the good people in the world die, leaving only the shallow, the selfish, the cruel, behind-she survived and her little sister withered and died (at her hand). She doesn't regret anymore, the last thing she regretted was her sister's death, regretted all the things she never said to her, regretted that it was her fault, regretted that it was too late to say "I'm sorry" or "I love you", or anything else that she wanted to say to Ariel while she still could understand. But other then that, she regrets nothing.

Her philosophy in life is simple: live fast and hard, die young and leave a cute corpse. Emphasis on the cute, of course. Angeline knows she's not going to heaven, but it doesn't matter anymore. ♥

your lies unrelenting disguise;

In her Mask, Angeline appears to be a young, stunningly beautiful girl of Chinese descent, with long, blue-black hair and, rather unusual, green eyes. She is petite and slender, her figure nicely filled out, though still quite proportional to her body, and enjoys wearing fashionable clothing and high-heeled boots, her makeup always immaculately applied.

She always smells like peach blossoms.

i don't ever want to see;

The Lost see Angeline still as a stunning beauty, her complexion taking on the delicate pinkish-white bloom of peach blossoms, with peach blossoms growing entwined in her long black hair, her eyes bright and vivid green. A refreshing breeze blows around her constantly, scented with the fragrance of peach blossoms at their prime.
