The city of Hiracte extends almost halfway into this, the largest body of fresh water in the Rift. Inhabitants maintain a thriving fishing industry to feed the rest of the city and produce fine exports. They are also careful environmentalists, seeking to preserve the legendary clarity of the Lake.
