An area of dry heathland sandwiched between the M25, A217 and Dorking Road.The soth-western corner is dominated by a golf course. A typical village pond can be found at Walton-on-the-Hill on the edge of Banstead Heath.
Over the past ten years the unexpected has turned up, such as a mid-summer Scarlet Rosefinch.
