Kato's Past

Kato's Past is the Sequel to The Oracle and is written in first person from Kato's point of view.
Story
The story is in the form of Kato's diary being read by Gail. It tells of Kato's induction to the Guardians, his best friend Ken Hall, and his true love Logan Fira. Gail learns about why Kato hated Aaron so much. Not because of his betrayal and defection from the Guardians, but because he killed Ken in cold blood. Gail learns that Kato has sworn revenge on Oteno for killing Logan and making Kato watch it. Most shockingly of all, however, is that she learns that Kato basically sold his soul and was a living corpse on the inside. He promised not to love in memory of Logan, and believed that his life was so far gone that the only thing tying him to the mortal world was his need for revenge against Aaron and Oteno.
Kato really believed, or made it sound like he did, that once he got his revenge, he would cease to exist. His sould would no longer have a place in the world, and he would leave in death. She knows that it isn't true since he got his revenge but still lived to light The Torch, but then learns that he had a vision that he would be the one to light The Torch and he decided to stay on the world just long enough to do so, but swore to himself that he wouldn't do it until Aaron and Oteno died at his hand.
