List Description
The following contains a list of the best college football teams I have ever seen. That would mean since about 1990 or so.
List
- 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers
- 2004 Southern California Trojans
- 2000 Oklahoma Sooners
- 2005 Texas Longhorns
- 1999 Florida State Seminoles
- 1996 Florida Gators
- 1992 Alabama Crimson Tide
- 2006 Florida Gators
- 2003 Southern California Trojans
- 2003 Louisiana State Tigers
Offlist But Worthy Of Mention
1997 Michigan Wolverines, 1991 Miami Hurricanes, 1991 Washington Huskies, 2002 Ohio State Buckeyes, 2001 Miami Hurricanes
Notes
1995 Nebraska was undefeated, won most of their games by a ton, played in a good conference, destroyed an undefeated opponent in the championship game, and had a bunch of extremely talented players (many who went on to the NFL). 2004 Southern Cal has a similar resume. I feel pretty confident about the top two. The next three rank the other undefeated champs who were clearly in the strongest group.
The omission of undeffeated 1998 Tennessee was intentional. Not that they were a bad team, but they lived on the edge much of the season and didn't really overwhelm anyone.
