Professor Flitwick is a bright, bubbly man. He has a heart of gold and is willing to listen to each side of the story as to make everything much fairer. Filius is the life and soul of the party, making everyones life much more fun. He has a stern side though, and if a rule has been broken, Flitwick will make the punishment appropriate and fair. He hates conflict of any sort, and despises students getting into fights. He hates alcohol, which he blames for the breakdown of his family, and pours any he finds down the sink. Filius James expects only the best from his students, and pushes them to their limits. He thinks blood purity should be thrown out the window, partially because he is at the bottom of the foodchain and also because he thinks its an awfully big waste of time. Filius has a fetish for ribbons and pillows of any size, colour or shape. He also is obsessed with fairies, and keeps a few in bottles in his office. His office is a girls dream, instead of decorating it with bland pictures he decorated it with an assortment of ribbons, fairies and pillows. He wishes he could renovate his classroom to his tastes, but he also fears what the students would think. He is very self-conscious and hates short people jokes.

Professor Flitwick has the impression of being slightly shrunk. He has large, brown, almond shaped eyes with large lashes and bushy eyebrows. Filius also has medium length, thick, curly brown hair with grey streaks running through it. He has elongated fingers and toes, with some calling him a hobbit. He has red cheeks from the little amount of alcohol he consumes, and his hair often frizzes up when he is drunk. He has big, large lips and rather large teeth, which he uses to consume enormous amounts of brocolli and cheese sauce. Filius is quite hairy, having to use several charms to keep himself looking decent. He has several scars and magical side effects from charms gone wrong; He has a purple bottom, peach fingernails, pointed ears and a hint of blue on his tongue. When he was living with aboriginies, he got a tattoo of a Koala that changes colour according to his mood. His small toe has gone black from frostbite and he has a pernament hand mark on his left buttock from his fathers beatings.

Filius James Flitwick was born on 17th of October 1924 to Miriam Maree Hartfield and Nicholas Peter Flitwick. His parents met in the trenches in WWI, as a Nurse and a soldier. His father was a muggleborn, and his mother was a squib. Miriam, his mother, was decendant from a prominent goblin family, but her grandfather was a wizard. They firmly thought he was a squib, sending him to muggle school and neglecting him. They moved to Glasgow, and Filius was top of his class in primary school. His Father used to beat him severely, and taught him the military way of life. His mother, however much she loved him, ignored these beatings and concentrated on his sister, Victoria. Filius was very close with his sister, and he was very proud of her achievements. When he recieved his Hogwarts letter, his parents immediately pulled him out of the primary school and began spoiling him rotten. He was sorted into Ravenclaw, and it was soon apparent that he had a special talent at Charms. The Charms teacher, Professor Milkypuff, gave Filius special lessons and moulded him into a perfect student. Filius had many acquaintences, but not many friends. In 7th year Filius joined a secret dueling club, and soon became the top dueler. Many students knew of his talents, and therefore kept well away from him. He never really made any contact with the females of the school, preferring to study and learn more. He left Hogwarts with top honours in Charms, and the highest exam marks the school had ever seen. He returned home, to find out that his sister had gone off the rails and run away with her boyfriend. His Father took this out on Filius and Mirium, but snapped and ran away to Samoa to be a soldier there.
Filius began to work for the ministry in 1944, and was immediately sent to Siberia to test a new type of warming charm. He had almost perfected it when a tragic accident occured. He hadn't washed the washing powder out of his clothes properely, and he shrunk horrifically. The other researchers began to call him Stumpy, and this upset him immensely. He left after five years of torment to live as a hermit with aborigine wizards in Ayers Rock. It was there he was taught fairness, love for the earth, and the need for everyone to get along. He stayed there for one year before being summoned to his mothers deathbed in Sheffield. She convinced him to become a teacher of Charms at Hogwarts. He desparately wanted to fufil his mothers last wish, so he sent his C.V. to Hogwarts a record 192 times. It took him three long years to recieve the job, and he poured his heart and soul into it. It took him 3 days to realise how dreadfully boring Charms was. He led a revolution in the way all classes were taught, and became known as one of the best Charms professors in the world.
In 1970 Filius recieved a letter from St. Mungos concerning his father, and he had a mental crisis trying to decide whether to go. He went, and found out his father had been dying of Syphillus contracted from a prostitute. He attempted to reconcile with his father, only to have his good intentions shoved in his face. He resigned himself to the fact that he was to live short and with no family. A year later, he recieved another St. Mungos letter concerning his sister. He went to see her in an instant, only to find out she wanted his kidney. He declined, and she died of kidney failure two weeks later. It was then he found out he had a little niece called Genevieve Jane, who had been assigned to her fathers care. Filius had shut off all emotion for his family, with the exception of his mother, and he left her to live with a distant aunt. It was then he accepted the fact he would never have sex, and therefore never have children.
Recently, the ministry has called him back to research protection charms for top secret ministry business. Filius jumped at the chance, and put teaching on hiatus. He left his HOH duties to Professor Delame, in the hope that Delame would learn something about the students and care for them better.
