===Personality===

Lily tries to get along with everyone, although sometimes she feels annoyed with the world in general. Many think of her as "such a nice girl," although really she's not so sweet and has little patience for people who seem to lack common sense. Lily often feels uncomfortable as a member of Gryffindor house. She's never thought of herself as very brave and tends to find more in common with the intelligent Ravenclaws. Plus she hates the color red--it clashes with her hair. 

She began smoking at the beginning of her fifth year to calm the extreme stress she places on herself.  Lily tries to tell herself that stress is the only reason and she could stop at any time, although she has become addicted and can't go a week without at least 2 (during the rare times when she's not freaking out over assignments and exams, that is).  She has a NEED to be perfect, pushing herself in her studies and making herself into the ultimate friend that almost anyone can talk to.

Part of Lily's drive to present herself as responsible and accomplished comes partially from her desire to forget the teasing of children from her younger days, and partially as a method of misdirection.  Lily has a fascination with the Dark Arts.  She feels that, especially as a Gryffindor, longing to know the intimate details of every curse and poison is a longing for forbidden knowledge.  She keeps her darker studies quiet, and excelles in Defense Against the Dark Arts as well as her other classes.

===Physical Description===

Lily is pretty short, only about 5'3" or 5'4".  Her hair when she was young started out Stawberry blond .  Now She has dark red hair and almond-shaped brilliant green eyes that are absolutely piercing when she glares in anger.  Her facial features are small, with a pointy nose and chin that remind people vaguely of a kitten.  She's in decent shape, with slightly curving hips and super-pale, lightly freckled skin.  When not in her uniform Lily likes to wear spiky heels and swishy long skirts, and the occasional corset.

===History===
  
Always a curious child, Lily excelled in anything academic while dreaming up fantastic stories that mystified her parents--so they were only mildly surprised and mostly proud to recieve her acceptance letter to Hogwarts. Lily's parents were extremely supportive of her "alternative" education, but her older sister Petunia was jealous of Lily's talent and powers. It pains Lily that her sister has grown to resent her so, especially since the girls were once so close when they were younger. However, that has never stopped her from screeching mumbo-jumbo at Petunia to scare her off when she's being an obnoxious little brat. 

In her primary school Lily was known as the "weird girl."  She was often tortured by her classmates for her strange interests and studious habits.  Sometimes they even went so far as to follow her home, leave threatening messages in her family's mailbox, or (once) even try to hurt her.  It was a wonderful change to enter Hogwarts, where an appreciation of magic was considered a normal thing.

Once at Hogwarts it became apparent that Lily was quite talented with Charms and had a keen mind for Potions. One of her favorite pastimes is to sit in the library with a fascinating book, studying the very things that sparked her imagination when she was younger. She gained a small reputation as a nerd but never cared much--she can't help wanting to devour more information about magic.

She was rarely able to stand the Marauders in general, but mainly James pissed her off the most. When she first met him he ruffled his hair and winked at her--all she wanted to do was poke him in the eyes.  She still feels like that sometimes, although they are currently dating (for the second time) and his boyish grin tends to make her knees melt.

While not the bravest of Gryffindors, the Gryffindor Pisces still exhibits a quiet courage. They aren't afraid to face painful truths, if there really is no way of escaping them. These Gryffindors are deeply compassionate, and full of emotional strength, often becoming the unofficial counselors in the common room who everybody runs to for advice. They are romantic to an extreme; their minds are stuffed full of fairy tales, myths, and legends. They often spend more time daydreaming than doing their homework, to the vexation of their professors (Lily, however, is too afraid of failing to NOT do the work!). Still, their daydreams do sometimes produce uncanny insights.
