It is thought that IBM will be making an announcement by 2008 on a potential move into the solar energy business. The company is working on a number of solar technology areas; the new business unit is focusing on applying IBM’s research and market strengths to environmental issues in order to develop new processes, technologies and products that benefit both the company and the environment.
