Moores, Isaac R

Colonel Isaac R. Moores, was a native of Kentucky; he served in the Seminole war in Florida, in the Black Hawk war of 1831, and in the war with Mexico, in 1846. He emigrated to Oregon in 1852, and became prominently identified with the affairs of his town and county. He represented Lane County in the Territorial Legislature, and was a member of the Constitutional Convention; he was the choice of his party for State Senator, in 1860, and was a candidate upon the Republican ticket. He died in 1861. He had at least one son John H. Moores who married Miss Virginia Lamon, a native of Virginia, and a member of an old family of that State.
