• First band was formed in Springfield had its own Cornet Band which gave regular performances in a

bandstand on the southwest corner of Second and Main Streets with Tim Wheeler as its director.

• Springfield Milling Company vs Lane County

• There is evidence that a cheese factory was in operation on Mill Street until 1889, when the factory building was converted into a school (Graham 1978a).
