Our Match Factory.
The Springfield match factory is now running full time and is finding great
demand for their products. The match has been christened the
"Vesuvius" and on each package is printed "Vesuvius," a Matchless
Match, made by the Springfield Match Co.
This little industry, though yet in its infancy, means more for Springfield
perhaps than any of us realize. Mr. Duffy, who is manager and part owner
in the factory, has proven his ability as a mechanic in his line and is
putting out a quality of goods that will be in great demand, as there are
none superior. The match is even, well cut, uniform in size and sure fire.
It is in fact a product that will sell on sight. Several shipments have been
made and last Saturday Mr. Bettelhelm, the sales agent, received an
order for fifty cases.
