Editing Independent Order of Odd Fellows

The [[Springfield]] Lodge No. 70 of the I.O.O.F. was chartered in [[1881]] with five founding members. The lodge hall was erected at the corner of [[A Street (Springfield)|A]] and [[Mill Street (Springfield)|Mill Street]]s (Walling 1884:453). The building later housed the fire department, jail and council chamber (Graham 1978b:3). The original hall was replaced in the early 20th century by the present I.O.O.F building.

I.O.O.F. Homecoming

[[Springfield]] Lodge No. 70 of the I.O.O.F. will hold its annual homecoming event on Wednesday evening, [[November 18]], according to plans being formulated.
