Fairies seem to love the Kokiri, each fairy choosing a Kokiri to be its partner. These "Fairy Partners" sometimes irritate their Kokiri Partners, but Kokiri without Fairies have been known to be shunned by their own kind.

All Kokiri are born with a fairy partener whom is knowledgeable in many aspects, including the biographies of common monsters, basic survival methods, and common items. Most have an irritating knack of constantly trying to inform their Kokiri Partener with sometimes too obvious information or constant bickering to get them back on track.
