Momoko's family was rich, and she inherited her two companies when her parents died.  When she was only 18 she got married to young man who she thought loved her, but he quickly divorced when he found out she was pregnant.  In the end, her baby died anyways, and left Momoko a very sad woman who lived for nothing but work.

When her family's old friends, the Kuronekos, came to visit in Japan, she let them stay at her mansion.  [[Kuroneko Satou]] and her got along very well the entire time that Mr. and Mrs. Kuroneko were alive, but right after they died, Satou became cold and unkind towards her.  Momoko, who loved the girl very much at this point, was very upset.  She didn't stop Satou from moving to the Cafe, but did do her best to support the cafe by ordering regularly there so as to "pay room and board" for her daughter.  she also secretly made many visits to the Cafe so she could watch Satou and be sure everything was going well.

Momoko is, surprisingly, a very kind and gentle person.  She loves her new daughter to bits, but realizes Satou isn't exactly fond of her, which is why she lets her move to Cafe Mew Mew.
